Aisho retreat, Norway

June 2010 by Roxana

What can I share with you of this retreat?

Silence. A new found depth of meditation of being.

Love. Once again being shown that this is the fabric of my existence, of existence itself.

Death. Opening and releasing a little more of the ego’s clutching.

Union. My tears flowed freely all week, waves of the relief of returning home, a home I now see that I had never actually left, a home that it is impossible to leave, where could we possibly go that is away from the embrace of the divine?

Grace. Healings, held in the arms of two awakened masters.

Community. Being with the 60 or so participants each sharing this thirst for union with God.

Hospitality. The gifts so freely showered upon us by our open-hearted Norwegian friends.

Song. Raising our voices in poetry and praise.

Dance. Of course, where Sarita leads the party soon follows!

Vincent and I will be integrating these gifts for many months so rich was the experience of this retreat, I urge you all to taste the liberation offered through the presence of this unique combination of two awakened masters. In true Tantric style they embrace so many opposites in their teaching together. Such a profound transmission of Shiva and Shakti, yin and yang, western woman and eastern man, classical solitude of meditation and Osho’s radical richness.

Sarita answers your questions - this month, on the changing and unchanging worlds.....

If the cosmic essence that created our world and all of life is forever moving, what is that which is still and who created that? Does it exist outside our universe?”

Jenny

“Ahhh, a cosmic question! This sounds exactly like the kind of question which I used to ponder for hours alone in bed at night as a child. I was determined to discover exactly how the universe and all of life functions by pondering over it with burning intensity. In those days, I was like a heat seeking missile, traversing the entire universe with my powers of intuition, in search of the big answer.

Mystics down the ages have been trying to define it. Quantum physicists are trying to discover it. In 1973, I met a Mystic named Osho, who stopped my heat seeking missile in it’s tracks. I heard him say: “Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived.” The day I heard him say these words, I entered into the mystery. As I dive ever deeper into the mystery, there is no end in sight. In other words, we cannot hope to grasp this vast mystery with our small minds. The mind by it’s very nature is a bio computer, designed to catalogue past experiences and prepare for future experiences. Mind lives in past and future, both of which are illusory. Mind cannot understand the present moment, which is the only life aspect which is actually alive and happening. The only way to understand life is through immersion in the present moment. And of course, this moment goes on changing. What is real now will no longer be real in 10 minutes. Therefore, reality is a moment by moment changing flow, very liquid. And as everyone knows, we cannot hold flowing water in our hands. In the same way, we cannot hold flowing ever changing reality in our minds, and define it.

Having said that, I will now define it, with the clear understanding that any definition is bound to be illusory. The only usefulness my definition could serve is to inspire you in jumping beyond the small mind into the vast unending mystery.

Shakti, the feminine principle is ever changing liquid life essence, the very nectar of life, which can be summed up in one word, ‘Love.’

Shiva, the masculine principle, is the pillar of consciousness which remains unmoving.

Between these two, is the creation principle.

The whole secret of creation is in that point of meeting. It is a portal into ultimate reality, or the oneness which is beyond duality.

The elements of Shiva and Shakti and the point of union are omnipresent within and around us at all times.

In Tantra scriptures, the eternal stillness, or oneness, is that formless field of pure potential from where everything arises, and to where everything will return. It is called Brahma.

In Quantum Physics, it is called Zero Point Energy.

In Tantra scriptures, the impulse for life, arising from Brahma is prana, a subtle breath of life, which brings the impulse for creation to manifest.

In Quantum physics theory, there is a particle called Tachyon which is the messenger from the Zero Point Field, breathing life from the unformed to the sustaining aspect of form, called the ‘orbit’ or ’subtle organizing energy field’ In a sense, this is the soul of matter.

As prana, (tachyon) inspires the creation principle, Brahma through this subtle messenger, is thus able to split into two, ie, duality, and in this way the dance of life and of creation can begin. The dance of creation happens below light speed, and the zero point field or Brahma is above light speed. As we are identified with the slower than light world of manifest form, we are not able to comprehend the ocean of the formless from which we spring. And yet, it is us, as the imprint of Brahma is our very essence from where we manifest. Therefore, we carry an inherent longing to know it, and to merge with this original oneness. The original oneness, or zero point field, beyond light speed, is all around us each moment. Asking if it is outside our universe is in a way like asking if the ocean is in a different place from where the fish swims.

And yet, your question is valid, because we cannot see it, or measure it, or grasp it in any way. So it appears very distant from us. The only way to know it, is to raise our vibration to a non-frequency state, which is impossible if there is identification with form. The only way to move beyond form is through consciousness. Our consciousness is unformed and can move anywhere and everywhere, according to our ability to expand into the limitless mystery. It is for this reason that the science of meditation has been developed. Meditation is the way to become an explorer of our inner universe. And there are no limits to the exploration. Great mystics come finally to the facticity of what is known as the ‘cosmic joke.’ And strangely, when you are able to be in the mystery and laugh about it, a really uproarious belly laugh, you got it! As the Mystic Kabir said, the ocean melts into the dewdrop.

It is interesting that whatever you are interested in is pulled towards you. As a child, having wanted very intensively to find the essence of life, I manifested a lifestyle where I have been given phenomenal tools to discover this essence, such as meditation with enlightened masters, Tachyon consciousness raising tools, and other forms of therapy and healing which have greatly accelerated my potential to realize universal consciousness. The School of Awakening was created to make all these tools and processes available for the benefit of all beings who are thirsty to wake up to their fullest potential.

On Saturday, 20 March, Vibha will be facilitating Awakening Aphrodite one day event in London, from 12:00 - 19:30. Open to women who are interested in learning sensual, empowering movement techniques, meditations and dance practises that unite body and soul.

Sometimes the last thing we feel like is a goddess. Life can be so demanding and we often feel stressed and stretched to the max.
Inside though, there is a place where our magnificence waits patiently for us to turn inward and tap this dimension of grace. This inner space is connected to a much greater divine energy source. This source can change our perspective completely. From here you can become acquainted with your true potential and issues that trouble your mind can evaporate like dew in the early morning sun. Here you can connect with your Inner Goddess, your infinite source of love and ecstasy.

Perhaps you are wondering how to possibly find this space inside.

Below are some suggestions for Awaken your Inner Goddess ~

1. Take really good care of your body. Eat as healthfully as possible (organic ideally). Watch for allergy triggers: sugar, dairy, wheat, etc. Use natural remedies whenever possible. Be sure to get enough sleep. It is also important to dress as beautifully and femininely as possible to embody your Inner Goddess.

2. Exercise daily ~ Walking, running, dancing, swimming, yoga etc. Whatever you enjoy. Spending time in Nature, whenever possible, is also nourishing.

3. Dance is one of the best ways to enliven and open your body to a sacred energy flow. *Awakening Aphrodite through Sacred Movement and *Tantric Sacred Dance are immensely helpful in awakening our Inner Goddess.

4. Remember to breathe deeply allowing the breath to awaken aliveness and pleasure in you. Bring heightened awareness to your senses, allowing life to enter you deeply through seeing , tasting, hearing, smelling and feeling. Awaken your goddess through pleasure.

5. Touch and hug more, allowing your love to flow and be expressed. Gratitude for your life brings out the goddess in you.

6. Take complete responsibility for your life. Blaming dis-empowers us and keeps us stuck.

7. Keep your communication clean and clear. Be courageous. Don’t let issues fester. Take a break, come back, and share from an uncharged heartful space. This can help resentments from building and polluting our minds and energy fields.

8. Uplift your mind with inspiring, enlightening books and films.

9. Meditate daily. Find time, even if only for short 20 minute periods. Find a method that suits you particularly and practice it a minimum of 21 times, ideally for 3 months for the greatest transformational results. *Tantric Meditations we can practice on our own are exceptional for awakening our Inner Goddess.

10. Participate in *groups, workshops and receive *healing sessions to assist you in working through issues.

11. Join *Women’s groups and *Goddess Circles that support your evolving into your ultimate potential.

12. Take time to relax, nurture and love yourself. Have fun, be playful.

As a bonus, When we are honouring of ourselves, we will attract men who can recognize us for the Goddesses that we are. Explore moving deeply into the practice of *Tantra with a partner, rooted firmly in your goddess self. It can then become natural to experience the potential of divine love and bliss inherent in the meeting between a man and a woman.

* suggested groups or sessions with an asterisk * are available with Vibha and through the School of Awakening.

Tameer travelled through Norway and France this Autumn to absorb the loving and enlightening presence of Japanese master Uezu San. This is his report of the experience - of love, truth and bliss!

Dear friends,

Uezu San toured Norway and France in October and November this year, blessing Europe with his expansive, loving energy. Our beloved friend Tameer was there to witness and absorb the experience. This is his story……enjoy!

Malika x

Tameer’s Uezusan tour report

Norway and France, October/November 2009

My visit to Norway started brilliantly after Ryan Air landed me at Torp airport and I caught the bus to Oslo. The sun shone and the countryside on route was beautiful. The air was cool, dry and clean – very pleasant after the English rain I left behind.

Champaka and Uezu San, Oslo bookshop event

But of course I went to be with Uezu San – not as a tourist. The night before the workshop he spoke at an event hosted by a local sannyasin-run bookshop. The room was prepared for about 70 people but more chairs were brought and by the time we started it was overflowing. There was much interest and quite a few of the people decided to join the numbers booked for the workshop. It was Uezu San’s first visit to Norway and the response was tremendous – especially in relation to the relatively small population.

Uezu San’s seminars are mostly a mixture of meditations, discourses and questions and answer sessions – so its good to make sure you have what you need to sit comfortably. But we also did the Osho Heart Chakra Meditation, which is very active. During on of these I felt that my body was just moving in sync with the other bodies while I watched – “all as one”!

In Europe Champaka translates Uezu San’s Japanese into English, so there were words for my mind to get hold of. But while starting now to write about his words, I remember when I first heard Uezu San in Japan. There was no translation and each discourse was really another meditation. But when my mind let go of struggling to absorb words it didn’t know, and when it let go of being pissed off by not being able to understand, then I saw Uezu San with no ego – as a simple man transmitting love. It was enough! What more can one look for in a master than a transmission of love?

Happy times in Oslo (with Tameer in the background!)

With Uezu San one receives a transmission that is beyond words. But when Champaka translates the words, he describes the universal nature of religion and spirituality. From him I heard that Christ consciousness = Buddha nature = god= our true selves = life = love. He talks of Jesus and Buddha as being men with that enlightened consciousness, which is one. And of course that gives us the opportunity to resonate with each of the words and notice which generates a positive or negative reaction.

Now I am clear that when Uezu San uses the word god he means the consciousness that is internal within each of us. Though sometimes I observe myself reacting to words which are also used when worshiping a god as an external being, even though I know that is not what he means. Then I also see many people from a Christian background resonating very positively to the same words, finding they can directly connect to their concept of god through Uezu San in a way that the traditional church does not offer. As Uezu San teaches – Jesus, Buddha and other enlightened masters use different words appropriate for their time and for their audience – but the truth is one.

The Dhamma Ball Meditation practice that Uezu San teaches is very powerful in its own right, and easy to continue after the seminar. But it becomes especially powerful when supported by Uezu San’s energy and presence. He passes around the room during the meditation session laying his hands on people to offer healing and a transmission of energy. It was in one such transmission that Sarita became enlightened, in May this year in Glastonbury. In Norway many people described very strong and wonderful experiences during the meditations. It was like they had broken through to new levels of bliss and awareness. And at the end of the three days, everyone left looking radiant and looking forward to Uezu San’s next visit to Norway in the summer of 2010.

Sarita and Uezu San in France

I went straight from Norway to my beloved in France, so we could be together at Uezu San’s retreat in the Ardeche. There with her I experienced an indescribable melange of love and meditation. Sarita commented to my beloved she was getting an energy transmission at both the crown and the base chakras and I wonder if this will be the flavour of the six day workshop Uezu San and Sarita are teaching together in India in February – a powerful combination of Shiva consciousness and Shakti energy.

Love and blessings,

MIND BODY SPIRIT FESTIVAL:

SHIVA SHAKTI TANTRA DANCE PERFORMANCE:

After returning from India in May, a group of students and friends and I got together and created a Tantra Dance performance for the Mind Body Spirit Festival in London, the UK’s largest alternatives festival.

My friends Vanya and Dinesh who are fashion designers from France created the costumes. They found their design inspiration during a visit to Khajuraho and other Tantric Temples in India.

We had twelve performers, some of whom are couples and some of whom simply partnered each other for the dance event. All of our performers have attended numerous Tantra groups with me and as you can see from the photos are vibrant and juicy people. We got together the day before to design our performance and rehearse, taking over Qiming and Gordon’s fabulous session room in Portobello Road, London. Luckily, Kaethe was there, who has been doing theatre for many years and could thus help us with choreography. I wrote the main dance theme on a scrap of paper, and after we worked out the kinks, I typed it up. We went through the 20 minute performance about a dozen times.

At the end of the day we celebrated with Buja Buja ice cream. For those of you who have not yet discovered Buja Buja, you have something to look forward to! It is raw, non dairy, contains no sugar and is the very best ice cream in the world. It is available at most health food shops in the UK. Yes, pleasure and health can dance hand in hand!

I had never thought of putting Tantra into a Dance performance, but since we were asked by the organisers of the Mind Body Spirit Festival to do so, I thought, well, why not? In fact it is a fabulous way to offer a taste of Tantra to people. We were able to transmit the joyous, vibrant, sensual, loving and sacred qualities of Tantra in a colourful extravaganza.

During the performance, Kaethe took care of the music while I hovered around in the wings and at intervals during the event, read out poetry taken from ancient Tantra scriptures. I must admit I did feel like a proud mother hen watching such a high energy show.

Poetry sample:

“All of us in different ways

Think of god

Beyond senses and feelings

And yet it is only

In the essence of loving

That God is found.”

From the Baul Mystics of Bengal, India

We received numerous compliments after the performance. We were flying high and came up with the idea that the theme of Tantra would make a fabulous ‘West End’ musical. So if anybody out there is inspired to take on such a mammoth project, the talent is all lined up!

NEWS FLASH; we may be doing a repeat of this performance at the Dartmouth Tantra Festival in December. This is going to be a great event with many Tantra teachers, live music and fabulous booths. The first one last year was great and I am sure this one will be even better. Perhaps I’ll see some of you there! By the way, the organisers of the Dartmouth Tantra Festival, Colin and Kerry, were part of our team of dancers in the performance.

Love and Blessings
